Straight answers. Better planning.
Practical answers to common questions about agricultural drone spraying, planning and on-site demos across South Africa.
What affects the cost per hectare?
Crop type, hectares, field layout, product requirements, application rate, access and travel all affect the quotation. There is no published universal price per hectare. Share your farm details so the team can assess the scope before providing a job-specific quote.
Can drone spraying use up to 90% less water?
Drone application can use up to 90% less carrier water than conventional tractor spraying, depending on the job. This is not a guarantee for every product or crop. Coverage requirements, label directions and field conditions determine an appropriate application volume.
Does spraying create wheel compaction?
Drone spraying does not require wheels to pass through the treated crop, avoiding new wheel tracks and wheel compaction from that application. It does not repair existing soil compaction or guarantee a particular yield increase. Crop and soil outcomes depend on wider conditions.
How is drift controlled?
The pilot plans flight height, speed and droplet settings around the treatment and conditions. Wind, weather, neighbouring crops and product restrictions are assessed before spraying. Drift cannot be promised away entirely; unsuitable conditions can mean delaying or declining the application.
What regulations apply?
Commercial drone spraying is subject to applicable aviation requirements and agricultural product rules. Ask to verify operator authorisations, pilot qualifications and relevant registration details. Our compliance page marks supporting references that still need to be supplied rather than publishing invented certificate numbers.
Which crops can be treated?
Suitability depends on the crop, stage, treatment objective and approved product, rather than a blanket list of every crop. Tell us what you grow and what treatment you are considering. The team will discuss whether agricultural drone application fits the proposed job.
How do I book an on-site demo?
Submit your name, phone, farm location, crop type and hectares on the Contact page, or use WhatsApp. The team will contact you to discuss the farm and arrange a suitable next step. A requested date is subject to agreement and operating conditions.
Do you travel to other provinces?
Yes. Agri Drone Bros travels to farms anywhere in South Africa from bases in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal and the Vaal area, Gauteng. Share your province and farm location so travel, scheduling and job scope can be agreed before a visit is booked.
What weather limits a spraying job?
Wind, rain, temperature and changing conditions can affect safe flying and suitable product application. Limits depend on the aircraft, operating requirements and product label. The pilot assesses the actual conditions and may postpone work rather than apply a universal weather threshold.
Which drone does the team use?
Agri Drone Bros uses the DJI Agras T55 for precision agricultural drone operations. We plan around the proposed treatment and field rather than promise a fixed output or payload for every job. Ask the team about the equipment configuration suitable for your application.
What records can I request?
Flight telemetry supports records of where and when the aircraft operated. Discuss the application information you need before work starts, including treatment area and agreed rate. Records support accountability, but do not replace label compliance or the documentation relevant to your farm.
