Responsible application starts before take-off.
Commercial agricultural drone spraying requires careful flight planning, product-label compliance and applicable aviation and agricultural authorisations. Supporting details are available for verification.
Aviation authorisations
Commercial drone operations in South Africa are regulated. The applicable operator authorisation, remote pilot qualifications and operational permissions must be checked for the proposed work. Our SACAA RPAS Operator Certificate or ROC reference remains [ROC details to be supplied]. This placeholder is not a claim of a specific certificate number or approval. Ask for the supporting documentation before engaging an operator, and confirm that it covers the intended operation.
Agricultural remedies and label directions
Crop protection products must be selected and used according to their approved label and applicable agricultural requirements. Our agricultural remedies registration information remains [Registration details to be supplied]. The product, crop, application method and rate should be discussed before scheduling a spray. A drone does not make an unsuitable product or prohibited application acceptable, and lower carrier water volumes must not override required coverage or label directions.
Pilot experience and accountability
Ryan du Bernard is a UAS Commercial Drone Pilot with VLOS, AVSEC and PCO certifications, with agricultural operating experience at PACSys and Smart Aerial Systems. Jaden du Bernard is a Commercial Drone Pilot and Pilot in Command with experience at PACSys, Smart Agriculture and Smart Aerial Systems. Supporting licence references remain [Pilot licence details to be supplied]. Experience and qualifications should be verified alongside the operator authorisations relevant to the job.
Weather, drift and field safety
The pilot assesses wind, weather, obstacles and neighbouring areas when deciding whether spraying can proceed. Height, speed and droplet settings are planned to help keep the application on target, but no universal setting eliminates drift in all conditions. Operations may be delayed when conditions are unsuitable. Discuss sensitive neighbouring crops, water, people and other constraints during planning so that they can be considered before the flight.
Records and supporting documentation
Flight telemetry helps record where and when the aircraft operated and supports review of the completed work. Ask what application information will be provided for your job and retain the relevant product and field records. Insurance information remains [Insurer and cover to be supplied]. We do not publish invented credentials, reviews or certification numbers. Use the Contact page to request supporting documentation and discuss the scope of an assessment before committing to an application.
